HOW CAN I BLESS YOU IF YOU WILL NOT GO WHERE I LEAD

Background
Info: I sent an email to subscribers of my devotionals letting them know I am
transitioning from sending emails as my primary delivery method to using blogs.

I
see one person unsubscribed and said she didn’t want to read blogs; she wanted
to receive emails. I could be wrong but she sounded a bit angry about it. Her
unsubscribing also seemed premature as I am transitioning people and it will be
a while before the emails stop. Also I will give people specific instructions
on how they can continue receiving emails via the Blog. Of course I thought
about the sense of entitlement we often adopt over things that are gifts. She’s
been getting (hopefully) encouraging emails for free, even though it costs me money
to send them to her. It makes me want to be more mindful about my blessings;
and not approach God as if I’m entitled to things that He gives freely as a
gifts.
Another
thing I get is that we can’t be controlling or demanding about how God chooses to bless us. We
don’t always get our preference; but must understand we’re getting a blessing.
God is the Blesser and I am the recipient. It’s not for me to tell God how to
deliver the blessings. I can ask, but I need to submit to His choice if I want
to receive what He has for me. In my case I think sometimes things don’t come
the way I want them to in order to teach me how to submit and persevere; I can
be stubborn, and I don’t think God is looking for messengers who won’t listen
to Him.
Lord I thank You for every blessing. I
recognize You don’t owe me anything yet You freely give everything. Please
forgive me for the times when I’ve approached You with a sense of entitlement.
At times I’ve been frustrated and tempted to give up or walk away when things haven’t
gone the way I wanted them to go. Help me resist temptation to stray. Keep me
grounded. Remind me that Your way is always best. I want to go in the direction You are leading
me. I don’t want to give up too soon. I don’t want to miss out on anything You
have for me.
23 but I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be
your God and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you,
that it may go well with you. 24 But they did not listen or pay
attention; instead, they followed the stubborn inclinations of their evil
hearts. They went backward and not forward.
Jeremiah 7:23-24 NIV
Israel is stubborn, like a stubborn heifer.
So should the Lord feed her like a lamb in a lush pasture?
